University Begins Surveillance Testing

With completion of the large-scale COVID-19 student testing prior to the start of fall classes, the University is implementing ongoing surveillance testing as part of its comprehensive plan to maintain the safest possible environment for students, faculty and staff on all campuses.

Mercer University COVID-19 Test Results For Period July 20, 2020 through August 19, 2020

The University has now completed its process of COVID-19 screening and testing for students returning to campus for the fall semester. All residential undergraduate students in Macon were required to be tested as they returned to campus before the beginning of classes, as were other students whose screening survey results suggested the possibility of coronavirus infection.

COVID-19 Symptom Monitoring App Now Available for Download

Mercer University has partnered with #CampusClear and Ivy.ai to roll out a free smartphone application that allows users to conduct daily COVID-19 symptom checks. The app is available for use on iOS and Android devices.

Mercer University Announces Results of Student COVID-19 Testing

As part of Mercer University’s mandated COVID-19 testing of returning and incoming students on the Macon campus, 35 students have tested positive out of 316 tests administered from July 31 – Aug. 3, including 29 student-athletes.

The University implemented a Face Covering Policy for Summer Session II that requires masks in classrooms and other campus spaces. There is growing evidence that face coverings provide protection both for the wearer and individuals around the wearer.

We ended the 2019-20 academic year at Mercer with much to celebrate. More than 1,800 students earned degrees at the conclusion of the spring semester. We will celebrate their graduations at commencement ceremonies on August 7 (Law School), August 8 (Macon) and August 9 (Atlanta).
