Revised Spring 2021 Academic Calendar Announced

As was the case in the fall, the spring 2021 academic calendar for undergraduate students on the Macon campus will be adjusted to eliminate long breaks and mitigate the risk of community spread of COVID-19.

With completion of the large-scale COVID-19 student testing prior to the start of fall classes, the University is implementing ongoing surveillance testing as part of its comprehensive plan to maintain the safest possible environment for students, faculty and staff on all campuses.

The University has now completed its process of COVID-19 screening and testing for students returning to campus for the fall semester. All residential undergraduate students in Macon were required to be tested as they returned to campus before the beginning of classes, as were other students whose screening survey results suggested the possibility of coronavirus infection.

As part of Mercer University’s mandated COVID-19 testing of returning and incoming students on the Macon campus, 35 students have tested positive out of 316 tests administered from July 31 – Aug. 3, including 29 student-athletes.

We ended the 2019-20 academic year at Mercer with much to celebrate. More than 1,800 students earned degrees at the conclusion of the spring semester. We will celebrate their graduations at commencement ceremonies on August 7 (Law School), August 8 (Macon) and August 9 (Atlanta).
