The Psychology Department is continuing a long-term project to collect student feedback regarding PSY courses. The project involves every student in every PSY course completing the attached survey form. We appreciate your participation in our efforts to improve the Psychology Curriculum.

In order to compare your reactions to one course with your reactions to additional PSY courses in which you may enroll, we need to identify your feedback in this course with your social security number. I want to assure you, however, that your instructor will not be given any information that would enable him or her to relate feedback to any specific student. With respect to your course instructor, your feedback is anonymous.

Your instructor will receive descriptive statistics regarding your feedback, such as the mean and standard deviation for each of the items on the course survey. A copy of these descriptive statistics also will be available to the Chair of Psychology. Your instructor also will receive a copy of the written responses you provide to the last items on the survey, but those responses will be typed before being given to your instructor.

Finally, I want to emphasize that a typed copy of your written responses will be given to the Chair of Psychology. If there is any information you want to relay to the Chair of Psychology, please include that in your written responses.

Once again, thank you for your participation in our efforts to improve our curriculum. Our goal is to make PSY courses the best courses offered at Mercer. Any feedback you can provide to further our attaining that goal is greatly appreciated.
