Endorsements are training for certified teachers who want to add expertise in specific areas. Students who hold a master’s degree in an approved content area from a regionally-accredited institution may apply for an endorsement program. The Autism Endorsement is available to certified teachers who hold a valid Level 4 teaching certificate. This endorsement will provide the certified teacher with knowledge and competencies to work with students on the autism spectrum. Endorsement courses are fully online; however, candidates will be required to complete a field-based component. (This program requires previous teacher certification.)

This program is offered in two cohort delivery models: a weekday, on-campus format consisting of in-person classes on Mercer’s Atlanta campus that is completed in 16 months, and an online format that is completed in 15 months.

The Master of Arts in Christian Ministry is a professional degree that prepares students for leadership in their faith communities. Students develop both the theological foundation and practical skills necessary for local church ministry. The degree is ideal for bi-vocational and part-time ministers, lay-leaders, and ministry-minded professionals from other fields.

Students who hold a master’s degree in an approved content area from a regionally-accredited institution may apply for an endorsement program. The Coaching Endorsement is available to certified teachers who hold a valid Level 4 or higher teaching certificate. This endorsement will provide the certified teacher with knowledge to utilize performance assessment data to guide, mentor, and lead a variety of teachers and educators. The graduate certificate in Compliance, Regulation, and Analytics in Fintech teaches individuals how to leverage artificial intelligence to drive innovation by combining data, technology, design, and people to solve problems, and equips participants with the latest information on regulations and compliance.

The M.S. in Organizational Leadership is designed for aspiring or existing leaders from diverse professions and backgrounds, who are interested in advanced leadership positions in the public or private sectors. With a pathway in Criminal Justice and Public Safety, students learn to navigate community engagement, understand the nature of crime and justice as well as conflict resolution strategies that ultimately lead to organizational success.

Mercer’s B.S. in Criminal Justice Leadership is designed to develop in students the ability to think critically, make ethical decisions, and behave ethically and professionally within the field of criminal justice. Graduates of this program are able to demonstrate deep knowledge and understanding of the philosophical, theoretical, and structural aspects of the criminal justice system.

Effective communication is essential to the success of every sector and industry. Gain a better understanding on developing and assessing communication campaigns, building relationships with various stakeholders, and monitoring an organization’s image through application of effective public relations and crisis communication theories with the Crisis Communication certificate.

Mercer’s Master of Science (M.S.) in Data Science covers programming, data structures and algorithms, machine learning, data modeling, computational statistics, computer science courses, and culminates in a capstone project. Students in the data science master’s program are equipped with advanced skills in programming, machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), deep learning, and statistics, and are prepared to tackle complex data-driven challenges across a wide range of industries.

Mercer’s Database Design and Analytics certificate includes a 15-credit program that prepares individuals to apply data science techniques to identify trends and generate insights from large data sets. Graduates will be able to manipulate and query large data sets, analyze data scientifically, and make strategic business decisions based on their findings.

Effective communication is essential to the success of every sector and industry. The Digital Media Communication certificate prepares students with the ability to create content and communicate effectively through new and dynamically changing digital and social media platforms. Students will interpret data analytics and metrics to evaluate the reach and effectiveness of social media and digital content.

The Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program explores epidemiological and health equity concepts. It also emphasizes engaging communities to improve health outcomes to allow every person to attain full health potential without disadvantage due to social determinants of health. Students admitted to the DrPH program with a concentration in Diverse Populations and Health Equity will be poised to lead organizations, and design, implement, and evaluate health programs envisioned to benefit disadvantaged and minority groups.

The Bachelor of Science in Education in Early Learning and Development prepares students to teach children from birth to age five in various settings such as preschools, early learning centers, childcare centers, or early childcare agencies. The B.S.Ed. in Early Learning and Development provides two options: the certification track and the non-certification track. The certification track leads to initial teacher certification in Georgia, while the non-certification track does not lead to certification. All students are required to pass the Georgia Educator Ethics assessment, and both tracks lead to a bachelor’s degree. Students complete the program through a blended combination of online instruction and in-person field experiences.

The Specialist in Education – The Accomplished Teacher program with a concentration in Elementary Education is a fully online advanced degree program designed for certified teachers at the master’s level who want to enhance their knowledge and skills as educators in grades P through 5.  This specialist degree prepares educators to advance in their careers, and equips them with the necessary skills and experience for success. Successful completion of the program will lead to eligibility for an upgrade of the candidate’s teaching certification to a Level 6 certificate by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC). (This program requires previous teacher certification.)

The M.Ed. in Elementary Education – The Advanced Teacher program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of currently certified educators in grades pre-K through 5, and focuses on leadership development, advocacy for all learners, best practices in pedagogy, and applied research skills. Upon completion of the program, educators with a Level 4 certification in Elementary Education will be eligible to upgrade their teaching certificate to a master’s level (Level 5) by the Georgia Professional Standards Committee. This program is fully online. (This program requires previous teacher certification.)

The Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Elementary Education is intended for those who hold a bachelor’s degree and are seeking initial certification at the master’s level. The program is designed to offer a comprehensive study of the specialized skills and knowledge needed to teach and support young children in grades Pre-K through 5. The program offers a wide scope of course content that focuses on theoretical and pedagogical issues while incorporating research, assessment, and technology integration. Students complete the program through a blended combination of online instruction and in-person field experiences. Diverse field experiences prepare teachers to support the diverse needs of young students. This program leads to initial teacher certification.

The Bachelor of Science in Education in Elementary/Special Education program at Mercer University offers an academic perspective to the candidate who values the individual and authentic worth of the young child through the inclusive lens of the general education classroom. Upon program completion, the candidate will become a transforming educator and a reflective professional who advocates for the needs and rights of the young child, while collaborating and establishing partnerships with parents, schools, and communities. Students complete the program through a blended combination of online instruction and in-person field experiences. This program leads to initial teacher certification.

The ESOL Endorsement is available to certified teachers who are seeking or hold a valid Level 4 teaching certificate in any field. Courses may be completed in a non-degree status or as electives within a teacher preparation program. Endorsement courses are fully online; however, candidates will be required to complete a field-based component. (This program requires previous teacher certification.)
