This program is offered in two cohort delivery models: a weekday, on-campus format consisting of in-person classes on Mercer’s Atlanta campus that is completed in 16 months, and an online format that is completed in 15 months.

The Master of Arts in Christian Ministry is a professional degree that prepares students for leadership in their faith communities. Students develop both the theological foundation and practical skills necessary for local church ministry. The degree is ideal for bi-vocational and part-time ministers, lay-leaders, and ministry-minded professionals from other fields.

The M.S. in Organizational Leadership is designed for aspiring or existing leaders from diverse professions and backgrounds, who are interested in advanced leadership positions in the public or private sectors. With a pathway in Criminal Justice and Public Safety, students learn to navigate community engagement, understand the nature of crime and justice as well as conflict resolution strategies that ultimately lead to organizational success.

Mercer’s Master of Science (M.S.) in Data Science covers programming, data structures and algorithms, machine learning, data modeling, computational statistics, computer science courses, and culminates in a capstone project. Students in the data science master’s program are equipped with advanced skills in programming, machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), deep learning, and statistics, and are prepared to tackle complex data-driven challenges across a wide range of industries.

The M.Ed. in Early Learning and Development – The Advanced Teacher program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of currently certified educators in birth through kindergarten, and focuses on leadership development, advocacy for all learners, best practices in pedagogy, and applied research skills. Upon completion of the program, educators with a Level 4 certification in Early Learning and Development will be eligible to upgrade their teaching certificate to a master’s level (Level 5) by the Georgia Professional Standards Committee. This program is fully online. (This program requires previous teacher certification.)

The Master of Education in Educational Leadership prepares individuals for Tier I Educational Leadership Certification in Georgia. Students learn to become transformational leaders and will be eligible for leadership positions at the level of Assistant Principal or below within the building, or any leadership position at the district level that does not supervise principals. Students will alternate between online class meetings and on-site, clinical practice hours at their own schools. (This program requires previous teacher certification.)

The M.Ed. in Elementary Education – The Advanced Teacher program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of currently certified educators in grades pre-K through 5, and focuses on leadership development, advocacy for all learners, best practices in pedagogy, and applied research skills. Upon completion of the program, educators with a Level 4 certification in Elementary Education will be eligible to upgrade their teaching certificate to a master’s level (Level 5) by the Georgia Professional Standards Committee. This program is fully online. (This program requires previous teacher certification.)

The Master of Arts in Teaching (M.A.T.) in Elementary Education is intended for those who hold a bachelor’s degree and are seeking initial certification at the master’s level. The program is designed to offer a comprehensive study of the specialized skills and knowledge needed to teach and support young children in grades Pre-K through 5. The program offers a wide scope of course content that focuses on theoretical and pedagogical issues while incorporating research, assessment, and technology integration. Diverse field experiences prepare teachers to support the diverse needs of young students. This program leads to initial teacher certification. Coursework is completed online with in-person field experiences in a school near the student.

Health informatics focuses on the application of information technology to deliver effective, efficient, and sustainable healthcare services. Through the M.S. in Health Informatics program, you will develop professional knowledge and skills in the following areas: electronic data interchange (EDI) technologies, interoperability standards, risk assessment, clinical decision support systems (CDSS), tele-health, healthcare software requirements specification, systems analysis, and design. This program is available fully online.

The M.S. in Organizational Leadership is designed for aspiring or existing leaders from diverse professions and backgrounds, who are interested in advanced leadership positions in the public or private sectors. With a pathway in Healthcare Leadership, students learn to build a continuous organizational system for sustainable healthcare delivery as well as financial health in their organizations.

The Master of Education in Higher Education Leadership prepares candidates to assume entry or mid-level leadership responsibilities in a variety of professional areas including: admissions and enrollment management, student affairs, advising, diversity, alumni relations and development, finance, human resources, facilities, and athletics. The program’s purpose is to develop transformational leaders who possess a strong understanding – grounded in leadership theory. This program is offered 100% online or through a blended combination of on-campus and online instruction at Mercer’s Macon campus.

Mercer’s Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Independent and Charter School Leadership is designed for professionals who want to lead in the environments of independent or charter schools. Ideal for aspiring or current principals, assistant principals, headmasters, or departmental directors (such as admissions or student services), the program also supports professionals from non-education backgrounds looking to strengthen their understanding of educational leadership.

Earning a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from Mercer University equips you to use instructional design approaches in a variety of workplace, educational, and training contexts.

Make yourself a more valuable asset. The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program is designed to prepare students for careers in accounting by providing an in-depth study in the basic areas of the field. The combined M.A.C.M. and M.S. in Organizational Leadership (concentration in nonprofit) is a program developed in collaboration between Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology and College of Professional Advancement. This program is designed to prepare students for leadership in both faith-based communities and today’s complex organizations by developing the practical abilities and skills needed in those settings. Through exploring non-profit specific strategies in development, budget, volunteerism, governance, and strategic planning, this program is ideal for those seeking to create change in their communities. Students attending full-time in the residential M.A.C.M. program can expect to complete both degrees in two years, including summers. Students attending in the online M.A.C.M. program can expect to complete both degrees in three years, including summers.

The Combined M.Div. and M.S. in Organizational Leadership, with a concentration in Leadership for the Nonprofit Organization, is a program developed in collaboration between Mercer’s McAfee School of Theology and College of Professional Advancement. It is designed to incorporate advanced theological training with leadership and organizational studies, providing students with the essential knowledge for ministry, as well as the tools and best practices they will need in order to excel in today’s complex organizations. The combined program provides every student with opportunities for personal spiritual formation and development, as well as practical experience in his or her chosen field of ministry. Students attending full-time can expect to complete both degrees in three years, including summers.

The Master of Public Health program offers students a rewarding opportunity to help reduce health disparities and to improve the quality of life for families and communities. The program is designed to be attainable for working professionals, as the courses are offered either in the evenings on the Atlanta campus or fully online.
