This program is offered in two cohort delivery models: a weekday, on-campus format consisting of in-person classes on Mercer’s Atlanta campus that is completed in 16 months, and an online format that is completed in 15 months.

The Master of Arts in Christian Ministry is a professional degree that prepares students for leadership in their faith communities. Students develop both the theological foundation and practical skills necessary for local church ministry. The degree is ideal for bi-vocational and part-time ministers, lay-leaders, and ministry-minded professionals from other fields.

Mercer’s Master of Science (M.S.) in Data Science covers programming, data structures and algorithms, machine learning, data modeling, computational statistics, computer science courses, and culminates in a capstone project. Students in the data science master’s program are equipped with advanced skills in programming, machine learning, natural language processing (NLP), deep learning, and statistics, and are prepared to tackle complex data-driven challenges across a wide range of industries.

Mercer University’s College of Health Professions (CHP) and College of Pharmacy (COP) offer the Doctor of Pharmacy/Master of Public Health (PharmD/MPH) combined degree program. For qualified students in the COP, students can pursue a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree concurrently with the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree. The PharmD degree is earned through the COP and the MPH degree is earned through the CHP.

The MPH degree program is designed to develop students into competent, passionate professionals ready to address the complex and dynamic challenges of public health in neighborhoods and populations in the U.S. and world. The MPH degree will complement the PharmD degree in a manner that will broaden the occupational and professional opportunities of the prospective graduate in community, industry, or institutional practice. The program has been carefully developed to permit concurrent pursuit of both the PharmD and the MPH curricula.

Mercer University’s College of Health Professions and Stetson-Hatcher School of Business present the Doctor of Physical Therapy/ Master of Business Administration (DPT/MBA) combined degree program. The role of the physical therapist in administrative and business aspects of practice is increasing. Particularly in the private practice sector, clinic managers and directors have the responsibility for the administration and financial health of the practice. In addition, with doctoral level training, physical therapists are well positioned to assume administrative responsibilities in many health care organizations. An MBA would greatly enhance the physical therapist’s ability to effectively perform these roles.

Graduates of this program will be empowered to serve the needs of individuals and society while being well positioned to understand the current administrative and leadership environment in which they will engage. Sharing the goal of ethical business and practice, this combined degree program will strengthen the knowledge and ability of graduates to function in a global health care market.

Students admitted to the DPT/MBA program will complete both degrees in 4 years.

Mercer University’s College of Health Professions is pleased to offer the Doctor of Physical Therapy/Master of Public Health (DPT/MPH) combined degree program. The role of the physical therapist in health promotion and wellness is increasing, as is the role of the public health practitioner in addressing societal health concerns, and evaluating community-based programming. Sharing the goals of promoting wellness and health promotion, advocating for improved health of individuals and society, reducing health disparities, and improving the quality of life for families and communities, students in the DPT/MPH combined degree program will be challenged to confront complex health issues, such as improving access to health care, and reducing environmental hazards and injury.

Mercer University’s College of Health Professions offers the PsyD/MPH combined degree program. This innovative combined degree program addresses the ongoing mental healthcare provider workforce shortage by preparing graduates to provide cost-effective, evidence-based mental healthcare to diverse populations within Georgia. This program is structured around one specific goal as stated in the Healthy People 2020 objective: “Improve mental health through prevention and by ensuring access to appropriate, quality mental health services”. Innovative programs such as the PsyD/MPH combined degree program address issues within the healthcare delivery system that are essential on both local and national levels. The curriculum plan facilitates preparation of mental healthcare providers who are able to address public health concerns and evaluate community-based programming.

The M.Ed. in Elementary Education – The Advanced Teacher program is designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of currently certified educators in grades pre-K through 5, and focuses on leadership development, advocacy for all learners, best practices in pedagogy, and applied research skills. Upon completion of the program, educators with a Level 4 certification in Elementary Education will be eligible to upgrade their teaching certificate to a master’s level (Level 5) by the Georgia Professional Standards Committee. This program is fully online. (This program requires previous teacher certification.)

Health informatics focuses on the application of information technology to deliver effective, efficient, and sustainable healthcare services. Through the M.S. in Health Informatics program, you will develop professional knowledge and skills in the following areas: electronic data interchange (EDI) technologies, interoperability standards, risk assessment, clinical decision support systems (CDSS), tele-health, healthcare software requirements specification, systems analysis, and design. This program is available fully online.

The Master of Science in Health Outcomes is a 30 credit, fully online degree program that offers two tracks: pharmacoeconomics or health outcomes research. Students will take courses covering topics including biostatistics, epidemiology, qualitative and quantitative research methods, health economics and health care delivery systems.

The M.S. in Organizational Leadership is designed for aspiring or existing leaders from diverse professions and backgrounds, who are interested in advanced leadership positions in the public or private sectors. With a concentration in Leadership for the Healthcare Professional, students learn to build a continuous organizational system for sustainable health care delivery as well as financial health in their organizations.

The Master of Education in Higher Education Leadership prepares candidates to assume entry or mid-level leadership responsibilities in a variety of professional areas including: admissions and enrollment management, student affairs, advising, diversity, alumni relations and development, finance, human resources, facilities, and athletics. The program’s purpose is to develop transformational leaders who possess a strong understanding – grounded in leadership theory. This program is offered 100% online or through a blended combination of on-campus and online instruction at Mercer’s Macon campus.

Mercer’s M.S. in Human Services Administration is designed for professionals who currently hold staff positions and are ready for leadership positions or are seeking a career in the human services field. Students focus on closing the gap between individuals, communities, and resources to improve healthcare. Advisor directed electives allow students to customize their concentration. The courses can include but are not limited to, courses in the areas of Child and Adolescent Services, Gerontology Services, and/or courses from another graduate program degree.

Earning a Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology from Mercer University equips you to use instructional design approaches in a variety of workplace, educational, and training contexts.

Make yourself a more valuable asset. The Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program is designed to prepare students for careers in accounting by providing an in-depth study in the basic areas of the field. This degree program fulfills requirements to sit for the Uniform CPA exam and for CPA licensure in the State of Georgia.

The combined M.A.C.M. and M.S. in Organizational Leadership (concentration in nonprofit) is a program developed in collaboration between Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology and College of Professional Advancement. This program is designed to prepare students for leadership in both faith-based communities and today’s complex organizations by developing the practical abilities and skills needed in those settings. Through exploring non-profit specific strategies in development, budget, volunteerism, governance, and strategic planning, this program is ideal for those seeking to create change in their communities. Students attending full-time in the residential M.A.C.M. program can expect to complete both degrees in two years, including summers. Students attending in the online M.A.C.M. program can expect to complete both degrees in three years, including summers.

The Combined M.Div. and M.S. in Organizational Leadership, with a concentration in Leadership for the Nonprofit Organization, is a program developed in collaboration between Mercer’s McAfee School of Theology and College of Professional Advancement. It is designed to incorporate advanced theological training with leadership and organizational studies, providing students with the essential knowledge for ministry, as well as the tools and best practices they will need in order to excel in today’s complex organizations. The combined program provides every student with opportunities for personal spiritual formation and development, as well as practical experience in his or her chosen field of ministry. Students attending full-time can expect to complete both degrees in three years, including summers.

Mercer University’s College of Health Professions offers the Master of Medical Science/Master of Public Health (MMSc/MPH) combined degree program. Sixty-five percent of HRSA designated Primary Health Care Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) are located in rural areas. Given the need for primary healthcare providers in rural, medically underserved communities, the MMSc/MPH combined degree program specifically focuses on providing rural and underserved communities with well-trained public health-minded primary care providers who have the ability to address societal health concerns and evaluate community-based programming. The primary target audience includes students with strong academic records who demonstrate an interest in community-based health promotion and primary care practice.

The Master of Public Health program offers students a rewarding opportunity to help reduce health disparities and to improve the quality of life for families and communities. The program is designed to be attainable for working professionals, as the courses are offered either in the evenings on the Atlanta campus or fully online.

The M.Ed. in Middle Grades Education – The Advanced Teacher program is designed to meet the needs of teachers in grades 4-8. Completion of the planned program (including the prerequisite Level 4 certificate in MGE) leads to eligibility for master’s level certification by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. The program offers a wide scope of advanced course content intended to expand the knowledge and skills of certified teachers and focuses on leadership development, advocacy for all learners, best practices in pedagogy, and applied research skills.
