Orientation Meeting with Candidates
Chapter Meeting with Electees
Initiation (Dec. 6)

Candidate Requirements

The following requirements are for those who have been notified of their eligibility to join Tau Beta Pi. The items of this list help us, as a chapter, to decide who should be invited to become members of Tau Beta Pi.

Resumes

Each candidate has to hand in their resume to the TBP box in the MAE Suite of the Engineering Building.

Recommendation Letters

Along with your resume, we ask that candidates also hand in two letters of recommendation from school faculty. These letters are to assure us that candidates are of a caliber befitting our organization.

Electee Requirements

The following requirements are to be completed after candidates have been elected to join the Georgia Beta chapter of Tau Beta Pi.

Electee Project

Each class of electees must undertake a project as a group, to be completed before initiation. This project can be any service project that the electees come up with as a group, as long as it is approved by the Electee Czar. This project does not necessarily have to be of grand scope as long as it is of an undertaking that provides an honorable service. If you have trouble coming up with ideas, feel free to ask current members or officers to help brainstorm or volunteer what they accomplished as electees.

The Polishing

Remember that often crusty and stained bronze object in front of the engineering building. That is Tau Beta Pi's Bent and deserves to be a sparkling reminder of the brightness of our minds and warm tones of our hearts. That being said, it is your job to polish it so that it looks like new. Keep in mind that the job you do is a reflection on yourself and, above all, have fun.

Catalog Cards

Each electee has to fill out two catalog cards and return both of them to the TBP Box in the MAE Suite of the Engineering Building. The cards will be given out by one of the officers.

Dues

Dues will be collected one time only at your initiation. The total amount is $70 and covers your local and national dues to the organization for a lifetime.
