The Invincible Iota Eta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha was founded at Mercer University on May 22, 1974 by seven eminent men. Iota Eta can proudly boast that we have been active servicing the community and our campus for years. A few events consist of Alpha Week, Miss Black and Gold Pageant, Gospel Explosion, 7:06 education program series, cookouts, HeadStart and Boys and Girls Club. We were also helpful in establishing the Mu Delta Chapter at Georgia Southwestern University in 1976, and hosted the 41st District Convention in 1997. Iota Eta needs not apologize for the reputation it holds on campus, in the city of Macon and in this nation. The community service and programs held on and off campus demonstrates that Iota Eta is unconditionally servants of all. Members assume all the responsibilities of leadership, and uphold the tradition of excellence that Alpha Phi Alpha personifies. With a rich tradition of excellence, Iota Eta will remain a paramount figure on the campus of Mercer University for centuries to come.
