Gamma Iota Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta International Fraternity was founded at Mercer University on February 27, 1960. Since that time, the sisters of Gamma Iota have contributed to the campus and community in social, philanthropic, and leadership areas. Being true to the nature of our mascot the squirrel, the typical Gamma Iota is energetic, lively, and involved as Residence Assistants, Special Events Team members, Bear Force workers, Habitat for Humanity, Cheerleaders, anchors for Mercer 99's Fifteen: Mercer Update, on SGA and Mercer Singers, to name a few. Gamma Iota also has a long tradition of being a Jewel Chapter, meaning that through our dedication to our philanthropy, we were able to raise over $2000 for the research of Juvenile Diabetes. Nevertheless, sisters still find time to have fun during our several mixers, Moonlight and Roses formal, sisterhood picnics and much more!
