The following grades are not accepted in the GPA Calculator because they do not affect a semester GPA: W, S, U, IC, and IP. An error will occur if these letters are used. If you are repeating a course this term, the grade you are estimating in the class will be calculated in your anticipated grade point average for the term. However, the calculator will not take into account any repeated course(s) you may have this term when determining your new (overall) cumulative grade point average. The Semester GPA and Overall GPA fields are truncated to three decimal places. Weighted Average Calculator The Assignment Name field does not affect the calculator, but it will help users keep track of which assignments are represented on each line. The Assignment Grade is the number of points awarded for each assignment out of 100 points. Fractions of points are acceptable input. The Percent of Course Grade field is how much the assignment counts toward the final grade. When all assignments are listed, the Total Percent Listed, which is calculated automatically, should display 100. If this is not the case, then the input may contain a typo. The Course Average field is truncated to two decimal places for easier reading. Points-Based Calculator The Assignment Name field does not affect the calculator, but it will help users keep track of which assignments are represented on each line. The Points Earned field contains the number of points awarded for the assignment, which is usually less than or equal to the Points Possible. The calculator will accept a higher value for Points Earned than Points Possible, since extra credit could be awarded. The Points Possible field should contain the total number of points that each assignment is worth. When all assignments are listed, check the Total Points Possible field to see if your input contains any typos. The Course Average field is truncated to two decimal places for easier reading.
