The Treatment Program
During an initial 5-10 minute phone consultation, Dr. Wright and the pet's owner discuss the behavior problem and decide whether to set up an appointment. For pet owners desiring an appointment, a 6-week program is initiated, usually on a Saturday or Sunday, following a recent veterinary examination. Dr. Wright visits the pet and his/her owner(s) in their home for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, during which the source of the behavior problem is identified, and owners are shown how to administer the treatment program. The program continues with frequent phone consultations throughout the six weeks to help ensure the success of the treatment plan. Most behavior problems can be resolved or significantly reduced and controlled. There is a one-time fee for the entire program, set at the initial phone consultation, due at the end of the house call.
Since beginning his applied animal behavior practice in Atlanta in 1981, Dr. Wright has helped more than a thousand pet owners resolve their dog’s or cat’s behavior problem. As a professionally certified animal behaviorist, Dr. Wright believes in the humane treatment of companion animals; none of his treatment programs are designed to mistreat or cause a pet to experience pain or suffering. If your dog or cat is exhibiting a problem behavior, Dr. Wright will be glad to talk with you by phone or email.
