Some Research Interests:

History of Philosophy:   Medieval -- Aquinas and Augustine, particular interest in issues in faith and reason; Ancient -- Aristotelian logic and science, Platonic, Aristotelian and Stoic ethics, Ancient scepticism; Early Modern -- epistemological issues of rationalism and empiricism, Leibnizian metaphysics, early modern theories of causation, roots of modern science

Philosophy of science, of religion:   Of particular interest are issues relating to the interaction and/or conflict between science and religious belief -- creation science and pseudoscience, the rationality of belief; other interests include the nature and structure of scientific theories and laws, anti-realism and realism in science, physical and metaphysical arguments against the truths of religious beliefs

Contemporary philosophy:  Philosophy of Mind -- the nature of mind, problems of consciousness, qualia, mental causation and explanation; Metaphysics -- free will, properties, causation; Epistemology -- a priori knowledge, foundationalism, evidentialism, reliabilism
