Scientific Inquiry—provides the general introduction to science for the beginning university student with contributions drawn from the natural, behavioral, and social sciences. Faculty members are prepared to teach SCI courses through a 3-tiered system: faculty members initially learn the core program pedagogies by spending one semester observing a class presented by an experienced SCI instructor. The College of Liberal Arts also supports the travel of many SCI faculty members to SCI-related short courses and teacher training workshops to broaden educator backgrounds. And every summer at least one core program invites faculty members to join a reading group or workshop for further development as SCI instructors.

Seniors from different majors share and compare their perspectives and expertise. Faculty members are prepared to teach SCP courses through a 3-tiered system: faculty members initially learn the core program pedagogies by spending one semester observing a class presented by an experienced SCP instructor. The College of Liberal Arts also supports the travel of many SCP faculty members to SCP-related short courses and teacher training workshops to broaden educator backgrounds.
