Institutional Research(IR) is the collection, analysis, and dissemination of data to support planning, evaluation, and management. Sarah E. May is the Director of Institutional Research. Enrollment and Credit Hours provide multi-year fall semester enrollment comparisons in tabular and graphic formats. Both reports are updated annually prior to end of fall term.
The Term Enrollment Profiles provide term-specific enrollment data from fall 1992 through the current term. The current term is updated on the 20th class day of each session. The profile has two major components. The "Demographic Profile" provides student headcount and FTE statistics by ethnicity, age, marital status, religious preference and Greek organization membership for each fall quarter/semester. The "Academic Profile" provides student headcount and FTE statistics by career level, student classification, degree program, major and special program participation for each quarter/semester.
Degrees Awarded provides information on degrees awarded from 1997-98 through the latest academic year by school, degree type and major. It is updated annually at the end of the academic year (June 30).
Fall Staff Headcounts by Occupational Category provides trend information from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) Fall Staff survey. The report provides a snapshot of human resources data as of November 1.
The Common Data Set is a standard response to college guides and other surveys requesting information about Mercer University. The document follows the format of the Common Data Set (CDS) which was developed as a collaborative effort between publishers (College Board, Wintergreen/Orchard House, Peterson's and U.S. News and World Report) and colleges. It is updated annually.
The Graduation Rate Disclosure provides graduation/completion rates in accordance with the Higher Education Act of 1965.
The New Freshmen Profile provides student academic and demographic statistics (college, attendance status, gender, ethnicity, classification, geographic origin, religious preference, age, degree program, SAT score, and high school GPA) on new freshmen in the Macon campus programs from Fall 1993 through the latest Fall term. The profile includes Five-Year Trends for All New Freshmen (headcount or percentage) and College-Specific Tables (by term or multi-year trend).
Retention & Graduation Rates provides trend information on retention and graduation rates for degree seeking students in the Macon campus program. The Retention reports is updated annually in the fall, and the Graduation rates are updated in the spring.
The Mercer Academic Research System (MARS) allows users to generate selective reports satisfying user-supplied parameters. The MARS databases are downloaded from Mercer's Student Information System (SIS) several times each term (beginning of term, 20th class day first session, 20th class day second session, end of term) and for two successive terms to reflect revised grades.
