Strategic PrioritiesThe University Planning Council recommended the following strategic priorities with key indicators for success. The priorities were approved by the University's Board of Trustees at the April 15, 2004 Trustee's Board Meeting: ENROLLMENT: Increase enrollment to 8,000 with majority of growth occurring on the Atlanta campus, and increase undergraduate retention of first year undergraduate students to 85%. FACILITIES: Integrate a time-line and priorities for addressing repair, renovation, and/or replacement of historic building on Macon quadrangle as the next phase of the Facilities Master Plan. FACULTY SCHOLARSHIP: Increase the research and scholarly productivity of faculty. PLANNING PROCESS: Enhance the University strategic planning process. TECHNOLOGY: Continue to upgrade technology resources to meet the needs of students, faculty, and staff. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Expand campus involvement in the educational, social, and economic development of the community. FINANCIAL HEALTH: Maintain the financial health of the University. QUALITY ENHANCEMENT PLAN: The goal of the Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), "The Engaged University: Learning Together," is to provide collaborative, interdisciplinary opportunities that nurture student moral development and enhance the climate of student engagement. QEP OutcomesIncreased MORAL JUDGMENT: the process by which a person determines the moral solution of a dilemma. Moral judgment reflects a person's underlying thought processes when confronted with matters of right and wrong. Increased MORAL COMMITMENT: the intention to engage in activities that support a person's moral or ethical code, not only as a reaction to a dilemma, but also as an effort to become involved in his/her environment. Increased MORAL INTEGRITY: the adherence to a moral or ethical code in thought, word, and deed. Increased CLIMATE OF STUDENT ENGAGMENT: the process of providing an environment that engages the University in activities that foster learning and personal growth. |
