We’ve simplified your life.
Just as we make it easy for you to attend classes and pursue your course of study at The Mercer Evening and Weekend Degree Program, we have simplified the admission process, too. For admission to the undergraduate programs, entrance exams are not required if you graduated from high school more than three years ago. Here’s what we require for undergraduate admission to Macon, Eastman, Henry County and Douglas County: (The Henry County and Macon Master of Education in Educational Leadership has different admission requirements.)
- Entering Freshmen (students who have never previously attended a college, university or technical school.)
- A completed Mercer Evening and Weekend Undergraduate Application for Admission form [PDF File, you may need to download Adobe Acrobat]. You may also fill out an application online.
- A $50 non-refundable application fee—check or money order made payable to Mercer University. Apply online and save! The application fee is reduced to $25 for all applicants who apply online.
- An official copy of the high school or GED transcript.*
- Official SAT/ACT scores* (only required for applicants who graduated from high school or GED recipients who would have graduated high school within the last three years).
- Transfer Students

- Official transcripts* from all regionally accredited colleges/universities/technical schools attended. Applicants who have earned less than 30 semester hours of college credit should also submit an official high school transcript and/or GED transcript.
* Official documents must be received in a sealed envelope directly from the institution or testing agency.
Once we receive all of the required documents, you can relax knowing that we will make an admission decision very quickly. You will receive your decision in the mail usually within two weeks of us receiving all of your paperwork.
Immediately upon being accepted, your transcripts will be evaluated by the Registrar’s Office. We will do a course-by-course transfer credit evaluation to determine what credits you already have that will be counted toward your Mercer degree. We will mail you a copy of this evaluation, and will also notify your academic advisor.
There are a couple of rules that we follow to award transfer credit:
- The course must have been taken at a regionally accredited institution.
- The course must be college level. Learning support classes are not considered.
- You must have earned a grade of “C” or better in the course.
- The course must be comparable to something Mercer University offers.
Please note that no more than 64 semester hours are transferable from regionally accredited two-year institutions and 96 semester hours total from all regionally accredited institutions.
Staff members are available at each location for assistance with the admission process. Applications and supporting documents must be submitted and admittance granted before a student is eligible to enroll in classes.
To attend The Mercer Evening and Weekend Degree Program, documents may be delivered to the Center you will be attending, or mailed directly to the following address:
