Study abroad is an outstanding way to supplement one's education in the Technical Communication department at Mercer. Students can choose from a variety of locations such as Australia, England, Spain, France, Italy, and others. Historically, Australia is a popular location for Technical Communication students because of its excellent communication courses, english-speaking language, and opportunities for travel. The presentation provides overall tips along with information specific to studying abroad in Australia.

Students are encouraged to take courses not presently offerred at Mercer during their study abroad experiences. For example, by taking courses such as advanced three-dimensional animation courses or advanced multimedia courses, students interested in visual communication can increase their skillsets while also increasing their exposure to other cultures.

Students interested in studying abroad are strongly encouraged to plan ahead. Speak to your advisor early in your undergraduate studies if you believe study abroad is a path you wish to explore.
