benefit from tco scholarships

Technical Communication undergraduate majors are eligible for all federal, state, University, and other scholarships awarded to engineering students, except for the state-funded SEE scholarship (which is for engineers only). Most TCO students usually qualify for one or more Mercer scholarships. A complete listing is available from your Financial Aid counselor at Mercer. Several scholarships are intended specifically for TCO majors:

Jeffrey Mavro Memorial TCO Scholarship

The Jeffrey Mavro Memorial TCO Scholarship is an endowed scholarship in memory of one of our alumni. One scholarship per year is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate major.

To apply, save the scholarship application to your computer, complete the form, and email the completed application to Dr. Grady. (The application is a fillable Word file and may be completed by clicking and typing directly into the form fields.) Applications must be received by September 30.

David C. Leonard Memorial TCO Scholarship

The David C. Leonard Memorial TCO Scholarship is an endowed scholarship in memory of one of our founding professors who died in March 2002.

Students in the MSTCO program are eligible to apply for the Leonard Scholarship.

STC Atlanta Chapter: David C. Leonard Scholarship for Technical Communication

The STC Atlanta Chapter has created a technical communication scholarship that is awarded annually; it is also named in honor of Dr. Leonard, who served as President of the chapter for several years and made major contributions to bringing the chapter into national prominence. Society for Technical Communication Scholarships

The Society for Technical Communication awards several scholarships annually to undergraduate and to graduate students. These internationally competitive scholarships require very strong credentials. For information, link to the STC homepage at www.stc.org.

Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) Scholarships

The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) offers annual scholarships to students, some of which are related to technical communication studies. For more information, link to www.acm.org.
