The Society of Women Engineers The Mercer University Chapter
The Mercer Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers received its charter in 1992. The National Society of Women Engineers (SWE) was founded in 1950. SWE is a non-profit educational and service organization that establishes engineering as a highly desirable career aspiration for women. SWE empowers women to succeed and advance in those aspirations and be recognized for their their life-changing contributions and achievements as engineers and leaders. - Annual Chili Cook-off Dr. Laura Moody is the faculty advisor for the Mercer University
Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers. Dr. Moody is an associate
professor in the department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering.
She teaches courses in the engineering core program, as well as the
Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department. Student officers
include president, vice president, secretary, treasurer and
publicity/web manager, and are voted 2006 Officers
