EGR-107 Introduction to Engineering Design Scores of freshman engineering students camped out in the lobby and hallways of the old engineering building the first three weeks of April. These students, all participants in the annual EGR 107 Introduction to Engineering Design Competition, were busy testing their designs. Some worked endless hours rebuilding after their first design failed. One student had been working on her design for 6 hours. Others worked meticulously correcting that one flaw which prevented the car from working. Blue boxes, bright yellow, red, and green parts were seen throughout the building. This presentation captures the students hard at work. Finally, the much anticipated day has arrived. Students display their “models” designed and built by their team, and compete in venues such as the Cable Car, Hill Climber, Off-Road Derby, Rampster, and the infamous Tug-of-War. This presentation captures the activities the day of the competition.
