| Learn from Experienced Professors...
The faculty is one of the School of Engineering's greatest strengths.
Unlike many large engineering schools, Mercer does not use teaching assistants
in the classroom. Faculty members bring to the classroom not
only theoretical knowledge, but also years of professional experience
in their
specialized
fields.
Many are involved in research projects that keep them abreast of the
ever-changing needs and demands of engineering.
Faculty members share a commitment to shape a program in which undergraduate education is a clear priority. Class size at Mercer is deliberately small with a student-to-faculty ratio that averages 20 to 1. Professors know students not only by name, but also by their professional aspirations and personal dreams. They seek to create a supportive and approachable environment in which students assume responsibility for the hard work of learning and where faculty serve as mentors, coaches, and teachers.
