Degree Requirements
The Communication and Theatre Arts major consists of a minimum of 27 hours, including CTA 200, 400, and a choice of 300, 301, or 326. Majors must also take an additional 18 hours in courses numbered 201 through 495. At least 15 hours in the major must be in courses numbered 300 or above.
All Communication and Theatre Arts majors will design a project in consultation with a CTA faculty member. The project will reflect the classes and experiences of the student in the CTA Department. Types of projects may include a research paper, play script, video production, public speaking presentation, set design, play direction, or portfolio. Successful completion of this project is required for graduation.
Majors may maintain Departmental Honors in Communication and Theatre Arts by meeting the following requirements: 1.) a minimum overall grade point average of 3.5; 2.)a minimum grade point average of 3.5 in courses taken in CTA; and 3.) a mark of distinction on the CTA major project.
