Departmental Co-Curricular Activities

ACTS is the Association of Communication and Theatre Students.  It allows those who have similar interests to meet, go on field trips, and interact with practitioners.  Advisor:  Debbie Chasteen.

Debate offers opportunities for students to gain experience in speech and argumentation.  This is excellent training for entering fields like law and teaching.  Advisor:  Joseph Zompetti.

Lambda Pi Eta is the accredited undergraduate communication honor society of the National Communication Association.  Advisor:  Frank Macke.

Theatre opportunities are available for students interested in the field to gain practical experience.  The department hosts four main stage productions each year in which students participate both on and off stage.  Theatre Director:  Paul Oppy.

Internships are unpaid positions within a company or organization that are arranged for a fixed period of time and are assigned academic credit.  Because the communication field is so broad, an internship in communication can help you define an area of interest.  Advisor:  Cindy Gottshall.
