University Commons, a new division within the University, is focused on helping students recognize their life's calling in light of their faith, education and abilities.

Funded by a $1.9 million grant from the Lilly Endowment Inc., for the Theological Exploration of Vocation, the Commons aims to strengthen the University's connections to its Baptist heritage by identifying and supporting a new generation of servant leaders, and providing opportunities for students to explore and understand their future work in light of their spiritual calling.

The Commons will sponsor meetings and conferences, develop educational and sabbatical programs for alumni and support academic scholarship and publication. It will also identify ministry opportunities, refine the orientation and advising system and develop leadership programs for students.
