INT Ethics Objectives

Integrative Foundation: 

Demonstrate the ability to promote the practice of sound ethical judgment in ambiguous situations.


INT 101 Understanding Self and Others: 

1.      Understand the diverse, evolving aspects of self.

2.      Respect the complex identities and ethical commitments of others.

3.      Develop an appreciation of neighbor and a concern for community.

4.      Appreciate the value of life-long education in self-discovery and the appreciation of others

 

INT 201 Building Community:

1.      Reflect on personal values in the context of promoting the public good and an ethic of service.

2.      Reflect on human aspirations of equality, opportunity, liberty, justice, and/or community.

3.      Understand the need for civility in public discourse.

4.      Articulate practical, creative and ethical responses to issues affecting the public good.

 

INT 301 Engaging the World:

1.      Reflect critically on how personal beliefs, attitudes, ethics, and practices are different from, but not necessarily better than, those in other Western and non-Western cultures and communities.

2.      Articulate analytical, practical, or creative responses to issues of global import (e.g. climate and ecological change; resource distribution and scarcity demographics; economic sustainability; global health; urban design).
