DEFERMENT FOR PENDING FINANCIAL AID

Any balance over and above anticipated financial aid funds must be paid in full or set up on a Monthly Payment Plan by the first day of class.

I, _____________________________, am requesting permission to defer payment of my tuition for Fall 2009 until my financial aid funds are received by Mercer University on my behalf. I understand that should I, for any reason, not receive my financial aid awards I am still responsible for payment in full of my account with the University.

I understand that if my financial aid file is not complete or if I have not been awarded financial aid by September 28, 2009,  my account will be placed on hold for transcripts and future registrations until it is paid in full. If the account is not paid in full by the end of the semester it may be transferred to collections.

I further understand that I will continue to be billed for my charges. I am aware that failure to pay could result in the assessment of fees and/or interest charges, possible placement of account and transcripts holds, and could subject me to further collection efforts which could result in a derogatory credit rating. I understand that if my account is sent to collection, I will be responsible for all collection costs which may include attorney and interest charges. I understand that collection cost will be a minimum of 33 1/3% and may be up to 67% of the outstanding balance at the time the account is placed with the collection agency or attorney.

I acknowledge that I have read and am willing to comply with these terms and understand that this agreement is intended to be a legally binding agreement between myself and Mercer University.
