Philanthropy
Alpha Delta Pi adopted the Ronald McDonald Houses (Children's Oncology Services, Inc.) as its national philanthropy in 1979. Ronald McDonald Houses are located worldwide and provide a "home away from home" for young cancer patients and their families. Having a Ronald McDonald House less than a mile from Mercer's campus allows Beta Sigma a wonderful opportunity to truly get involved in our community. We volunteer at the house and take part in fundraising activities. Our work includes making dinner for the families and various other fundraisers throughout the school year.
ADPI participates in a number of other philanthropy events throughout the year. This year ADPI sponsored our annual campus wide event called Hoops and Hogs, which is a basketball tournament and barbeque cookout. All of the proceeds from the event went to RMH. Each year we also sponsor Kids Day Out with Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. The event is free to all children in the Macon community and offers a fun day in the park for families nearby. Although these are our two biggest philanthropy events, we participate in many other fundraisers, such as Relay for Life, Race for the Cure, S.T.O.P., and other fraternity and sorority sponsored events.
