Our
Mission
To
be an instrument of Christ in drawing students and equipping them for
spiritual warfare by providing an atmosphere of true worship and holiness
by teaching the word of God.
Who
Are We?
All God's Anointed People Evangelizing is an interdenominational campus
outreach ministry at Mercer University. We are committed to the
ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our focus is evangelism
and reconciling souls back to a right relationship with the Lord.
We are a multi-cultural ministry that believes in crossing all racial,
cultural, and denominational lines to worship God as one body of Christ.
What
We Believe
It must be understood that A.G.A.P.E. is not a church;
it is a campus ministry. Therefore, we have no formal "by-laws,"
"constitution" or "creed" that
governs our fellowship or what is required to be a part of our ministry.
Nevertheless, because we are a ministry composed of students from various
religious backgrounds, it is necessary that a statement of faith, which
embraces all Christian denominations be established for the purpose of
"Unity of the Faith" (Ephesians 4:13).
Our
goal is to help non-Christian students of Mercer University to establish
a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to assist Christian students
in developing a stronger relationship with Jesus. However, because
we are interdenominational, the issue of what constitutes salvation may
arise. Therefore, our focus should be on our agreement and not our
disagreement.
A.G.A.P.E.
agrees with the doctrine of the "priesthood" of the believer
(I Peter 2:9). God is able to speak to each individual and let them
know what they need to do to be saved. The Bible affirms this: And
they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother,
saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know me, from the least to the greatest
- Hebrews 8:11 (KJV).
Notwithstanding,
our belief must consist of the following:
A.G.A.P.E.
is a Christian ministry and we believe in the:
- Deity
of the Lord Jesus Christ as one with God the Father, begotten of God
through the Holy Spirit.
- Born
of a virgin, lived a sinless life and suffered and died from the redemption
of mankind.
- Bodily
resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ who now sits on the right
hand of God as our Intercessor and Great High Priest.
- His
finished work on the cross which brings salvation from sin for all those
who trust in His sacrificial atoning death. And that salvation
comes by grace alone, through faith in Jesus.
Finding
a Church Home
One way that A.G.A.P.E. seeks to encourage
Christian students is by assisting them in finding a local church
home. There are many local
churches in the Macon area that offer Watchcare programs which
allow students that are away from home to have a membership to the
church for as long as the student is living in the area. We
believe that membership and commitment to a local church is critical
for Christian growth and provides a source of accountability.
