Macon Telegraph article: Mercer professor named 2001 Woman of Achievement
The Macon Business and Professional Women's Club will present its 2001 "Woman of Achievement" award to Mercer University Professor Margaret Schweri during its meeting Oct. 18 in Macon.
The Award is being presented to Schweri in recognition of her achievements as an educator and researcher.
Schweri joined Mercer University School of Medicine in 1984, having previously served with the National Institutes of Health. She is a professor of pharmacology in the Department of Basic Medical Sciences, professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Science, and an adjunct associate professor of pediatrics. Her research focuses on developing medications to block the effects of cocaine and other drugs on the brain.
