ATLANTA Ð Dr. Mitchell G. Reddish, professor of religious studies at Stetson University, will lead a study of Revelation at the Mercer University McAfee School of Theology Annual Bible Conference in Atlanta on Oct. 29 and in Macon on Oct. 30.
The conference will be 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with lunch included, in both Atlanta and Macon. The Atlanta conference will be in Cecil B. Day Hall on Mercer's Cecil B. Day Graduate and Professional Campus. The Macon conference will be in the Trustees Dining Room of the Connell Student Center on Mercer's main campus. Reddish, the author of the Smyth & Helwys Bible Commentary on Revelation, has shaped the national discourse on Biblical apocalyptic literature through dozens of publications and presentations. His books include An Introduction to the Gospels, Apocalyptic Literature: A Reader and An Introduction to the Bible.
He has published articles in such publications as Teaching Apocalypse, Perspectives in Religious Studies, Mercer Commentary on the Bible, New Handbook of Christian Theology, Journal for the Study of the New Testament, The Southern Baptist Educator and several Bible dictionaries.
He received his Ph.D. and master's degree from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he received the Clyde T. Francisco Preaching Award. He is also a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Georgia.
