President Bush has asked the Nation to hold a National Day of Prayer and Remembrance on Friday. He is asking people across the country to pause during the noon hour and pray for the victims and their families of the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and the downed plane in Pennsylvania.
Mercer calls upon the members of its community to join in this remembrance at noon Friday. At that time, on the Macon campus, the Paccard Bells atop the McCorkle Music Building will peal for 11 minutes symbolizing the date in September when the attacks occurred. Simultaneously, on the Atlanta campus, appropriate music will be played from the Quad.
Let us take this time to reflect quietly as a caring University community.
