MACON Ñ Mercer University student Stacey Copelan of Greensboro received the Michele Cartagena Spirit Award at the Greek Convocation held April 20 in Macon. This award commemorates Michele Cartagena, a Mercer student who was killed in 1997, and is given annually to one Greek woman who displays leadership and a positive attitude in their own organization, throughout the Greek system and on the Mercer Campus as a whole. Copelan, a rising senior majoring in English, is a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She is the daughter of Martha and Raymond Copelan of Greensboro. Founded in 1833,
