Instructions for Completing the Admissions Application

This online application is for admission into the undergraduate (traditional daytime program) and  international programs. There are special applications for students who are entering the United States under an F-1 Visa and for students applying for the Extended Education Program (evening classes). These applications can be requested from the Office of International Admissions and from the Extended Education Admission Office, respectively. Graduate program applications can be obtained from the dean's office in each college or school.

Any additional information that you feel would be helpful in the review of your application would be welcomed by the University. We are here to assist you. If you have questions about any of Mercer University's programs or the admission process, please write, call, or e-mail the Admission Office.

Admission Checklist for Freshmen

If you are applying as a freshman, you must submit the following materials:

  • Admission Application
  • $40 Application Fee
  • Official High School Transcript(s)
  • Official SAT and/or ACT score(s)

Admission Checklist for Transfers

If you are applying as a transfer, you must submit the following materials:

  • Admission Application
  • $40 Application Fee
  • Official High School and/or College Transcript(s)
  • Official Financial Aid Transcript(s)

Admission Checklist for International Students

  • Admission Application (use online form or request an application: international@mercer.edu)
  • Certified copies of all academic records (optional for ELI)
  • Financial Support Statement (which we can mail to you) or Bank's Statement (Showing first year's support)
  • TOEFL score of 525 for undergraduates and 550 for graduate students(optional for ELI)
  • Nonrefundable application fee of $50
  • If you have studied in the United States, a letter of good standing for the current semester or quarter.

Application Fee

You may submit your application fee online, or you may mail a check to the Office of University Admissions, Mercer University. A nonrefundable $40 ($50 for international students) application fee is required with your application. If you submit your application online, please send payment promptly. Clearly identify on the check your name as it appears on the application.


SAT/ACT Score(s)

Request that an official report of your SAT/ACT Score(s) be sent to the Office of University Admissions, Mercer University. A score on an official high school transcript is acceptable.

Mercer's SAT institution code is 5409; Mercer's ACT institution code is 0838.


Transcript(s)

Freshman
Request that your official high school transcript(s) be sent to the Office of University Admissions, Mercer University.

Transfer
Request that your official high school transcript (if transferring with less than 20 semester hours or 30 quarter hours) and/or official college/university transcript(s) be sent to the Office of University Admissions, Mercer University.


Dual Enrollment

If you have participated in a dual enrollment program, request that your official college and financial transcripts be sent to the Office of University Admissions, Mercer University.


Financial Assistance & Planning

All applicants are encouraged to fill out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Designate Mercer University as one of the colleges to receive your SAR (Student Aid Report). The Title IV Institution Code for Mercer is 001580. The FAFSA should be mailed as soon after January 1 as possible to meet Mercer's priority financial assistance deadline of April 1.
