In all, 3,223 students applied for a seat in the 1999 entering class. 2,518 of these students were accepted (78%).

80% of Mercer's freshmen are from Georgia. Other states include Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, Tennessee, North Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Maryland, Louisiana, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Kentucky, California, and many other states. 3% of our entering class are from foreign countries.
