Helen Grady—Associate Professor and chair
Dr. Davis is an Associate Fellow of the Society for Technical Communication. She holds a BS from Troy State University, an MA from the University of South Florida, and a PhD from the University of Mississippi. She is founding Chair of the Department of Technical Communication and has held a number of administrative positions, including Associate Provost, within the university over a period of years. She is the 2002 recipient of STC's Jay R. Gould Award for teaching excellence in technical communication. For more information on Dr. Davis, please visit her website.
George Hayhoe rejoined the Mercer faculty in August 2006 after two years at East Carolina University, a previous two years at Mercer, and 18 years working in industry. A fellow of the Society for Technical Communication, he served as editor of the society's journal, Technical Communication, from 1996 to 2008. He is also a senior member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers and the IEEE Professional Communication Society, and is a past president of that society. He led the People to People professional communication delegation to the People's Republic of China in 2002. He earned a BA, maxima cum laude, from La Salle College, an MA from the Catholic University of America, and a PhD from the University of South Carolina.
