Need a Reason to Choose Mercer?
Why pick just one... check out our top five!
- 1) None of that boring lecture stuff...
- If it is your job as a student to learn, it is the job of our faculty to make learning not only as informative as possible but also as enjoyable! School of Engineering faculty do this by incorporating hands-on-projects into their curriculums. Why read about circuits when you could be building them? This is the philosophy our professors share as they strive to provide the ideal balance between theory and practice.
2) Yes, you do have a FUTURE after Mercer's School of Engineering...
- Preparing you for a career after graduation is our top priority. This is why class projects model projects you would face in the real-world to give you industry-applicable experience. Mercer graduates have commonly cited the project experience they gained during their studies as a driving force in finding success postgraduation. The School's close partnerships with Warner Robins Air Force Base, the Mercer University Research Center, and the National Engineering Advisory Board help students to make professional contacts and land their ideal job!
3) Faculty who really do know what they are talking about...
- Unlike larger institutions, Mercer does not use teaching assistants in the classroom, thereby ensuring that you receive a high level of classroom instruction from faculty who have years of professional experience. Nearly all Mercer faculty hold the highest degrees attainable in their fields and are further distinguished by their positions in societal organizations and by numerous awards and honors. Engineering faculty take an active interest in expanding their knowledge of their individual specialties, allowing them to pass along up-to-date information to you while supplementing textbook material with interesting anecdotes.
4) Why get one degree when you could get two...
- Have you ever considered going to graduate school one day? Why wait... at Mercer's School of Engineering, you can get your BS and MS degrees in a total of five years through the School's concurrent BS/MS program. This program is available through a variety of specialties and is sure to provide you with that something extra to set you apart from others in a highly competitive job market.
5) We built it, now you come...
